Heel & Toe Children's Charity

About us

Heel and Toe Children’s Charity has been providing free therapy and support to children and young people with profound physical and neurological disabilities since 2008. We provide conductive education, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, massage therapy, hydrotherapy, weekly and intensive block sessions, remote video assessments and therapy sessions, delivered by highly qualified paediatric therapists operating from two specially adapted buildings in County Durham.

We support over 220 children and young people from birth to 19 years from across the Northeast region, providing full assessments and individual, multi-disciplinary therapy plans that maximise a child's time at Heel and Toe to achieve their goals. We receive no government funding and rely on our paid-for services and fundraising activities to provide a wide range of therapy services. The charity needs to raise £1,000,000 each year.

We aim to support children with disabilities to improve their quality of life and independence so that they can look forward to a future where possibilities and opportunities are not constrained by their disability. We believe that no child or young person should be denied Conductive Education due to a lack of money.
